Christina Tournatzẽs

Christina Tournatzẽs, born in 1992, is a German-Greek director based in Munich. Her award-winning graduation film Cargo was screened at more than 50 festivals worldwide. Her first feature film Karla won the New German Cinema Award for
Best Directing and Best Screenplay at the 42nd Munich Film Festival and the
Audience Award and FIRESCI Critics Price Best International Film at the Thessaloniki Film Festival among others.
Through her work, Christina seeks to give a voice and an empathetic stage to people who
are often unheard in society. She is particularly drawn to complex, ambivalent characters,
as well as to detailed observations of the human and interpersonal—as well as the
atmospheric and the unspoken.
She is currently developing her second feature film.
