Christina Tournatzẽs
film director and screenwriter
Christina Tournatzẽs, born in 1992, is a German-Greek director based in Munich. In 2019, she completed her directing studies at the Macromedia Academy for Media and Design. Her award-winning graduation film Cargo was shown at 53 film festivals in more than 20 countries. Cargo is represented by AG Kurzfilm, among others.
Her feature film Karla will premiere at the 42nd Munich Film Festival and is set to be released in German cinemas in autumn 2025. For Karla she recieved funding of the BKM, FFF Bayern, DFFF, arte and BR. The film is represented by Playmakers Munich and Eksystent.
With her work, she aims to give a voice and an empathetic stage to people who are often unheard in our society. She is particularly drawn to complex, ambivalent characters and to detailed observations of the human and interpersonal — as well as the atmospheric and unspoken.
She is currently developing her second feature film as part of the Drehbuchwerkstatt Müncheh.
